We offer two types of herbal luncheons: our ever-popular Gourmet Boarding House Luncheons with Mini-Workshops and customized luncheons for groups of 10 or more.
The food is superb, as Madeline Wajda draws on her training in classical French cuisine, more than 30 years of experience hosting diplomatic dinners and receptions, and nine years as the Executive Chef at Willow Pond Farm.
She combines the best of traditional American and classical French fare with both the delicate and robust flavors of herbs to produce dishes such as gingered carrot soup with sage, grilled rosemary chicken, and cherry-lavender clafouti with lavender crème anglaise. Recipes are always provided and our shop is always open to diners.
Gourmet Boarding House Luncheons
The Boarding House Luncheon series is one on our most popular activities. Great food! And a guided tour of the Willow Pond Farm gardens and lavender field.
This year's luncheons are May 11 and 22; July 1; August 18 and 21; and September 15 and 25. May 18 is sold out. Luncheons are held on the patio (weather permitting) and include soup, a main course, salad, and dessert. (Of course, everything has herbs in it.)
Guests are invited to arrive at 11 a.m. for a garden tour before lunch at noon. Stay for a mini-workshop afterwards.
In May, the focus will be on growing and using fresh herbs; in late summer we emphasize harvesting and preserving herbs.
The cost is $25.00 and reservations are a must. Reserve your place now for yourself or your group.
Questions about reserving? Call 717-642-6387 or e-mail info@willowpondherbs.com.
Group Luncheons
Group luncheons are designed for garden clubs, homemaker groups, Red Hat Societies, or any group of 10 or more. If weather allows, we start at 11 a.m. with a garden tour followed at noon by lunch on the patio. In cool or inclement weather, we move indoors and begin at noon with appetizers in our living room. The all-herbal meal includes an outstanding appetizer, soup, salad, main course, and dessert. After lunch, a meeting can be held, or we can offer a lecture on some aspect of herb culture or use. The cost for group luncheons is $25 per person.
Please e-mail info@willowpondherbs.com or call 717-642-6387 to set up a luncheon for your group.
Open Thu–Sat, 9 am–5 pm, from April 1 until Christmas.
Also open Sunday, noon–5 pm, from April 1 till mid-June, and in November and December.
